The problem

You open ten tabs for one question and cannot tell which ones are worth reading in full.

How Muse helps

Click Summarize in the side panel. Muse reads the page content and returns the main points.

The outcome

You decide in seconds whether to read, save or close the tab.

How to summarize a webpage with Muse

Works in the Muse side panel. Open it from the toolbar or with ⌘ + M.

  1. Open the article

Muse works best on pages with real text: news, long reads, documentation, reports and blog posts.

  2. Choose Summarize

Open Muse and pick Summarize, or type your own instruction such as "Summarize in 5 bullets for a manager".

  3. Ask for what you need

Follow up with "What evidence supports point two?" or "List the action items" to go deeper.

Summaries are generated by AI and can miss nuance or contain mistakes. For decisions that matter, check the original text. Each summary uses one AI request.

Summaries shaped for the job

Triage reading lists

Skim the point of each article before deciding what to read properly.

Brief your team

Ask for a summary in a specific format, like three bullets and one risk, and paste it into chat.

Study and review

Turn a long explainer into a short revision outline, then ask Muse to quiz you on it.

Check the fine print

Summarize terms, policies or release notes and ask what changed for you.

Common questions

How long can the page be?

Muse reads a visible text excerpt of the page. For very long pages, select a section and summarize one part at a time for the best results.

Can I choose the summary length or format?

Yes. Type the format you want, such as "two sentences", "bullet points" or "a table of pros and cons".

Does summarizing work on paywalled articles?

Muse can only use text that has loaded on the page in your browser. It does not bypass paywalls.
