2. Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law. The Site and Muse are not intended for children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country). If you use our products on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. The Site

The Site provides information about Muse, links to official extension store listings, legal pages, and contact details. The Site may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

4. The Extension and extension stores

Muse is distributed through the Google Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons, and is also subject to each store's developer policies, terms, and browser permission model.
Features, screenshots, and descriptions on the Site or in the stores may change as we update the product. Feature availability may differ between browsers.
Muse AI Companion includes one free AI request per day on the free tier (shared across AI features); further AI actions the same day require a subscription described in section 9A and shown in the Extension before checkout.
Installation, updates, and uninstall are controlled by your browser on your device.

5. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension for its intended purpose. You do not acquire ownership of the Extension, Site content, brand, or related intellectual property.

You may not (except to the extent allowed by mandatory law):

copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or sublicense the Extension;
reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except as permitted by law;
remove proprietary notices;
bypass security or usage limits;
use our brand/name in a way that implies false endorsement.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the Site or Extension for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
violate others' rights (privacy, IP, publicity, etc.);
interfere with or disrupt the Site, Extension, or third-party services;
attempt unauthorized access to systems or data;
upload or process content you do not have rights to process;
use the Extension to spam, harass, or circumvent website/security controls unlawfully;
misrepresent affiliation with FitzTools / Fitz.apps;
use automated scraping of the Site in a way that overloads or harms the service.

We may suspend access or refuse support if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms.

7. User content

You retain rights to content you process with Muse (webpages, prompts, notes, email drafts, images). You are solely responsible for that content and for having all rights and permissions needed to process it. You grant us only the limited rights necessary to operate features you request (for example transmitting content to an AI provider when you trigger an AI feature).

8. Third-party services and websites

Muse may interact with third-party websites and services (including the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, Firefox Add-ons, Dodo Payments, OpenRouter and AI APIs, YouTube, and Gmail). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party availability, policies, fees, outages, content, or account actions (including store removals or site blocking).

9. AI features

AI-powered features (for example summarization, translation, or "ask" helpers) may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected results. You should not rely on AI output as sole professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety advice. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before use. AI features may send necessary content to third-party processors as described in the Privacy Policy and product notices.

Muse AI Companion is a side-panel chat assistant for the page you are looking at. It may read that page and selected text to answer questions you ask. If you ask it to summarize a YouTube video, it may fetch that video's transcript for the answer. Optional voice input converts speech to text in your browser when you tap the mic button; only the resulting text is sent when you submit a message. It does not send email, manage calendars, fill forms, or take autonomous actions on websites. You remain responsible for how you use its answers.

9A. Muse AI Companion subscriptions

On the free tier, Muse includes one shared AI request per calendar day across chat, page summaries, YouTube summaries, email assist, and image generation. Any completed AI action counts as that request. You receive the full result for your first AI action each day; starting another AI action the same day requires one of these auto-renewing subscriptions. Prices shown in the Extension are in USD. The Dodo Payments checkout page shows the amount and currency you will actually be charged before you pay:

Weekly — $4.99 per week after a 3-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to $4.99 USD per week and renews each week.
Monthly — $9.99 per month, renewing each month until you cancel.
Yearly — $39.99 per year, renewing each year until you cancel.

Checkout and merchant of record. Checkout is provided by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record. Muse opens Dodo's checkout page in a new browser tab. You pay Dodo, not inside the Extension. FitzTools does not receive or store your card number or CVC. Opening checkout, or returning from the checkout page, does not by itself unlock Pro.

Install identifier and entitlement. The Extension identifies the browser installation with a random install_id stored locally. That id is sent to our billing service and to Dodo as checkout metadata (muse_install_id). When Dodo confirms an entitled subscription by a signed webhook, our billing server links it to that installation. The Extension then reads status from the billing server. Pro is not granted by editing data in extension storage. There is no Muse login.

Access. Access stays on while the subscription is active, including the Weekly trial. If a payment fails, access continues only for the grace period Dodo reports, if any. If you cancel at the end of the current period, access continues until that period ends and then stops. An immediate cancellation, expiry, or a paused or on-hold subscription removes access.

How to cancel

Use the receipt or customer-portal link from Dodo Payments, or the restore flow in Muse which emails that portal link to the address used at checkout. Cancel before the trial or renewal date if you do not want the next charge. Uninstalling Muse, closing the paywall, or clearing browser storage does not cancel the subscription and does not stop renewal.

Restore on another browser

Type the email used at checkout. We check Dodo for an entitled subscription. Typing an email does not itself turn Pro on. The subscription is linked to the new installation only after that check succeeds.

Refunds, invoices, and taxes

Refunds, invoices, and taxes are handled by Dodo Payments under their terms and applicable law. Contact egor.besarabm@gmail.com if a charge and the in-extension status do not match, and include the email used at checkout. We do not promise a particular refund beyond what Dodo or the law requires.

10. Intellectual property

The Muse AI Companion and FitzTools / Fitz.apps names, logos, Site design, text, graphics, and Extension materials are owned by us or our licensors. Chrome and the Chrome Web Store are marks of Google LLC; Microsoft Edge is a mark of Microsoft Corporation; Firefox is a mark of the Mozilla Foundation; YouTube and Gmail are marks of Google LLC. Third-party names are used only to describe compatibility or purpose.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Site or Extension, you also acknowledge that Policy.

12. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND EXTENSION ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

We do not warrant that the Site or Extension will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that results (including AI output) will meet your requirements or be accurate/complete.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FITZ.APPS / FITZTOOLS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE, EXTENSION, OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE, EXTENSION, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE EXTENSION FEATURE AT ISSUE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fitz.apps / FitzTools and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site or Extension, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Site and uninstall the Extension at any time. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription (see section 9A). We may suspend or stop offering the Site or the Extension, or restrict access, if required for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or store/policy reasons. Provisions that by nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) will survive termination.

16. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we publish revisions. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where additional consent is required by law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction's law, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply and cannot be waived. Courts in a competent jurisdiction may hear disputes, subject to those mandatory protections. Before filing a claim, please contact us to try to resolve the issue informally.

18. Miscellaneous

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Site and Extension.
You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale.
English is the controlling language of these Terms if translations conflict (the Site and Extension interface may be localized).
